LSU Tigers

Eight road covers in ten games made the Tigers one of the best road sides against the number in 2025-26: three teams in Division I had a better away rate, three matched it. They won one game in 15 as underdogs, so the cover and the win were different bets with LSU.

Two seasons in one

LSU went 12-1 through December, then 3-16 from January on. The early run was mostly home chalk, plus neutral-floor wins over DePaul 96-63 and SMU 89-77. The one loss in that stretch was 82-58 to Texas Tech on a neutral floor at +185. January was 2-7 and February 1-6, and the season ended on four straight losses, the last 87-82 to Kentucky in the conference tournament.

On the road: losing by less

Away the Tigers went 3-7 straight up and covered 8 of 10. Most of the covers were losses inside a big number: 84-73 at Vanderbilt getting 13.5, 73-63 at Tennessee getting 14.5, 88-85 at Texas getting 10.5, 85-81 at Arkansas getting 10.5. The one underdog win of the season came on the road too, 106-99 at Ole Miss at +120.

At home: the moneyline bled

One unit on LSU in each of its 15 priced home games lost 6.99 units; only 12 Division I teams lost more at home. Home spreads went 7 of 17, and the home record was 9-8 after an 8-0 start there through December: 1-8 at home from January on. Favored at home in January, the Tigers lost 78-68 to South Carolina at -355 and 80-66 to Mississippi State at -325.

Underdogs who covered

As underdogs LSU covered 9 of 15 and won once, so the underdog moneyline lost 12.8 units; only 16 teams lost more that way. February alone cost 4.8 units at 1-6, with four covers. Kentucky beat them twice, by one and by five, and LSU covered both.
