Elon Phoenix

College Basketball

The Phoenix covered one spread in 13 as favorites in 2025-26; only nine Division I teams had a lower rate. Give Elon points and it was a different side: 10 covers in 17, and 2.95 units won on the underdog moneyline.

The favorite problem

The single cover as a favorite came in late December, 103-91 over Northeastern laying 4.5. The other 12 favorite spreads all missed, and four of them were outright home losses in 2026, the worst 102-82 to North Carolina A&T at -360; Stony Brook at -218 and Drexel at -205 also won there. One unit on Elon in its 12 priced favorite games lost 5.45 units, and only ten teams lost more that way.

The finish

After that win at William & Mary in mid-February, Elon lost its last five, and William & Mary ended the season in the conference tournament, 72-62. February was 1-6 with two covers in seven. UNC Wilmington and Charleston each beat Elon twice, and the Phoenix came up short of the number in all four, the Charleston pair either side of New Year and the Wilmington pair from February into March.
